Job Description:	The Scripps Mercy Hospital Surgical Services department consists of the main operating rooms, post anesthesia care unit (PACU), pre-induction unit (PIU) and the ambulatory surgery center (ASC). This includes special procedures and the endoscopy unit. The highest volumes of surgical procedures are performed for orthopedics and general surgery. Other services provided include Cardiovascular, Open Heart, Trauma, Urology, ENT, Ophthalmology, Plastics, Neurology, Oral Surgery, Maxillofacial and Gynecology. As a Registered Nurse in the Surgical Services department, you will provide a direct patient care within the scope of practice. This includes assessment, planning and implementing a plan of care, and evaluating patients' progress towards expected outcomes. The Registered Nurse takes primary responsibility for the patients' care as delivered by the Care Team under their supervision. As a team member, you will work collaboratively with the other members of the patient care team to ensure optimal patient care, reflecting Scripps values.
