Job Description:	The Scripps Mercy Hospital Acute Surgical department includes an 87-bed post surgical unit, specializing in general surgery, trauma, and orthopedics. This department cares for a wide range of diagnosis including gastric bypass, total knees, TURPS, colectomies and vascular surgeries. The trauma patient population includes both blunt and penetrating trauma. As a Registered Nurse in the Surgical department, you will provide a direct patient care within the scope of practice. This includes assessment, planning and implementing a plan of care, and evaluating patients' progress towards expected outcomes. The Registered Nurse takes primary responsibility for the patients' care as delivered by the Care Team under their supervision. As a team member, you will work collaboratively with the other members of the patient care team to ensure optimal patient care, reflecting Scripps values.
