Job Description:	Job Title: Medical Complex Unit Director Company: Confidential Address: Northern Suburbs Salary: $85K-100K+ Working Hours:Core business hours, however; needs to be someone who can be accountable in case emergencies take place. Experience Required: 10+ Years Nursing Experience - Healthcare background - complex care preferred ________________________________________________________________________ Duties/Responsibilities: This unit oversees approximately 50-60 patients. Most of the patients have more complex needs- congestive heart failure, COPD, fractures, Alzheimer’s/dementia, and basically anything not on the orthopedic floor. Patients may have underlying medical issues. They need someone who is going to be on-top of watching for additional symptoms. These patients might not be the best “historians”, so it needs to be someone who can understand some of the information they might be receiving might not be the most accurate. There are times when the family isn’t on the same page as well. This individual needs to have a strong personality. They need someone who wants to show they are taking ownership of the unit. This is a salaried employee and as a director, he or she is responsible for anything that could be happening on a shift. For example, if there was some sort of an issue on the evening shift, this director should want to get to the bottom of it when they come in the morning, rather than have the mentality “that didn’t happen on my shift, so I don’t know…” The director will be overseeing a strong team of 4-5 nurses, 5-7 CNA’s, and will be interacting with occupational therapists & physical therapist to coordinate therapy schedules on a daily basis. Most of the patients in this unit receive therapy. Approximately 45 patients are Medicare patients.
